Hi, I'm Daniel — I like figuring out how things work, whether that's a financial reconciliation or a piece of software. After a decade in accounting, data analysis, and enterprise systems, I found my way into software development. That background still shapes how I work: I care about precision, clean data, and building things that hold up under scrutiny.
Since Aug 2025, I've been a Software Developer at VRC Insurance Systems, building and maintaining software with JavaScript, V4GL, and SQL — working day-to-day with other tools such as VS Code with Claude, SVN, and ClickUp.
Before software, I spent over a decade in accounting and tax — across public accounting, corporate finance, and international compliance. A quick look at where:
-
- Analyzed monthly consolidated data for accuracy within the Tagetik consolidation platform.
- Created custom report pulls and queries to support various types of analysis such as financial reporting & acquisition target data.
-
- Gained hands-on experience with multiple accounting tools, including intermediate Excel, Lawson, Oracle, SAP, and Blackline.
-
- Supported international tax compliance and tax filings for the geomarket, with early introduction to Oracle accounting software.
-
- Performed a wide range of account reconciliations & tax returns for customers — early training in systematic, detail-driven problem solving.
Education
- Master of Applied Computer Science Columbus State University · Columbus, GA

When I'm not at the keyboard, you'll find me exploring small local attractions around here, trying out new coffee shops, or losing track of time on a long trail run.
